End-of-Season Pick-a-Nick and Awards

Our season will end by 1-2 August, with the touch and tackle tournaments. It's time to think about wrapping it up.

Picnic
When do we want our picnic? Go to the poll (right) and register your vote.

I strongly recommend Sunday, 9 Aug, so we can wrap the season up as quickly as possible once it's over (also, I'm out of town 15-16 Aug).

We'll hold the picnic at Area E or F at Fort Hunt Park, same as last year, probably about 3:00 or 4:00 pm. The club will spring for burgers, dogs and drinks--no match fee!--and folks can bring additional items if they'd like.

We'll do all end of season and team awards at the picnic.

Awards
What kind of awards do your players want? It's basically a medal or a trophy, big or small. Talk to them about the options, and vote in the poll (right).

The cost for a medal on a ribbon is less than $5, with a small trophy at about $6.50 and a large trophy running about $20.

We will order through Crown Awards. Run a keyword search (top left) on "rugby," and a good selection of awards will come up. I'll order any medal or trophy a player wants, all you have to do is give me the details.

Last year players ordered trophies and medals, and I was left at the end of the season holding about $60 in unclaimed and unpaid for awards. So, this year all awards will be paid for upfront.

The order deadline will be 31 Jul 09.
