Fort Hunt Rugby Marching in St. Pat's Day Parade, Saturday, 6 March

We've been invited to march with the Alexandria Roosters Rugby club and Alexandria youth rugby in the Alexandria St. Patrick's Day parade this Saturday.

This will be a great way to show our program to hundreds of potential players and supporters.

Players, parents, friends and siblings are free to join us--the more the merrier.

Uniform for players is full playing kit: shorts, socks, jersey, but do not wear your studded boots/cleats. Wear comfortable walking/running shoes. Players may bring a ball along if they'd like. Players, be prepared to run basic ball-handling drills when we stop at intersections and any time the parade stops. We won't be doing any contact drills, of course.

Showtime for all participants is 11:45, and the parade will begin at 12:30.

The rallying point is the corner of Harvard and Cameron (near the King St Metro station).

Parking: the best bet is to arrive via Metro to the King STreet station, so you can park at Huntington, Eisenhower, etc. The only problem is that the parade is a straight-line deal, and we all will end up near the bottom of King Street near the river. You can take the trolley back, but I expect it will be very crowded. Another approach would be to park early near the end of the parade, and walk up King Street to the marshalling areas. You can reach Coach Dacey anytime at 301-503-3377.

Coaches will have goodies and flyers for players to hand out along the parade route.

Be there!
